Cabbage Rolls are a staple at my MIL's house on New Year's Day. Pork and Saurkraut - you know the old wives tale about eating this on New Years. I think we have missed these maybe twice since Dave and I have met. Some years towards the end of the year, Dave and I comment on how bad our luck was that year. I then laugh and say well its a good thing we went to your mother's for New Year's Day and ate cabbage rolls or it would have been worse.
I hope this year will be the best in our marriage yet. We are happy with our new location and school. The kids are too especially Sami and Jason. I am 2 quarters away from graduating. Jarred is working towards it too. Lets hope and pray for a good year!
Blessings in 2007: Not in any specific order!
- We still have both of Dave's parents and his stepfather.
- I am able to attend college and Sage preschool.
- My scrapbook talent
- Generous gifts from Guardian angels, friends from Scrap Addict, being adopted for Christmas, and Women's Small Group
- Dave's health
- David and Tiffany's engagement
- Mike's not getting orders for Iraq yet.
- Children adjusting well to new surroundings and making friends
- Friendsips
- Many others that I am sure I have forgotten
615!
That is the number of layouts that I did for my own books for 2007. This total does not count the Brookville Spirit Pages I sell at the scrapbook store or pages for my classes that I teach. Every one of these layouts is in one giant pile in a box waiting to be lovingly placed in an album and looked at over and over. Anyone got a spare $200 for albums? LOL!
This is the highest number of pages that I have ever done. I am happy with my progress and layouts I've done. Some I've loved, some I've hated and some were just right. You can't do a perfect job on every one can you? I am completely out of recent printed photos for Jason, Sage and Sami as of this date. I missed and have not printed All-Star Baseball, Football, and Volleyball. I did not print the vacation that we took in August overnight. I think though if I review, I am done with 2007 up until December! Happy Dance.
My scrapping goals for 2008?
- Participate in Monday, Ad and sketch challenges at www.scrapaddict.com
- Do at least 365 pages
- Stay current with 2008.
- Find an organized system that will allow me to know if I have scrapped every event in the year for each child.
Wish me luck!!!

I am sure this is not nearly complete. I'll be adding to it as I remember more. I want to do a summary page for each child this year. I haven't done that since 1998. The year Jason was born BTW! LOL!
Happy New Year to all!

Here it is!!! This is my 600th layout of 2007! More layouts than I have ever done in a year before. I'm excited. Even the kids were helping me count up the last 10 layouts!!!! I have an all day crop on the 29th too. There is an all day crop at work on the 28th. I am not sure if I am going to attend that one or not!
Last night Tonya, Bruce and their son Cody came over for supper. Poor Dave, sometimes, he is so out of the loop! The whole family knew that they were coming to supper and then Tonya and I were going to work on our business plan for college, right? Wrong, all but him! LOL! He was shocked that I would use a social occasion to do homework. Like duh! I am going to college 3 days a week, working 2 days a week at the college and the other 3 at the scrapbook store. Tonya goes to school with me 3 days a week and works 4 or 5 days a week at a local hotel for her internship! HECK YES!!! We are combining supper and homework.
So they arrived and we had wonderfully grilled out burgers, baked beans, tater tots and a cheese ball and beef roll ups. After supper the guys retired to the living room and the Ohio State game. The kids went outside. We began our work on our project. After about 2 1/2 hours, we gave up. We got a lot done, but were too tired to work any longer.
After they went home, I tried to finish some other work, but couldn't concentrate any more. Off to bed I went.
Now, you ask??? What am I doing on here???? Oh yeah, surfing SA and trying to forget I am supposed to be finishing things I didn't do last night !LOL!
Goodbye for now...
Well Jason was home sick today and Sage will be tomorrow. I won't be going to school tomorrow (friday). I'll work at 2 until 5:30. Dave will drop off Jason and Sami at the beginning of the parade route for the homecoming parade. After the parade and the mad search to find your kids among all the mess, we'll attend the game. Our hight school team is 5-1 this year. After that home to fall into bed.
Saturday... hit the ground running. We have to be an hour from home at 12:00 noon for Jason's 1:00 game. After that, we will watch our cousin's game and return home. At 5:30, my friend Tonya and her family are coming for supper and watch the Ohio State game. Tonya and I will be doing our business plan for school. Plugging away at that but need to work tons more.
Sunday... no plans away from home but I have a project due on tours on Monday and 2 huge oral presentations coming up soon. One I have to convince a club of 50 adventurers to take the trip I am trying to sell!!!! All 8 of the people in our class are doing the same thing. We will evaluate each presentation and vote for one that was the best. I am doing a cruise on the amazon. Wish me luck.
Scrapbooking??? Doubt it. I didn't even get to scrap at work today! LOL! You know they actually had WORK for me to do!!! I rearranged 1/2 the store trying to make things fit. New product is wonderful for the customer (okay and employees! LOL!) but it means it has to fit some place. UGH!!! Gotta finish that tomorrow too so I won't get to scrap there.
More soon!!! TTFN!
Hope you have a wonderful year and that you achieve the goals and dreams you have for yourself! read more
